Background
Global beauty brand Sephora is preparing to open its first stores in Scotland this summer, with major outlets set for Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The Edinburgh location at St. James Quarter will span nearly 5,000 square feet, while the Glasgow store at Silverburn Shopping Centre will cover slightly more than 5,000 square feet.
Shoppers can expect a wide selection of international brands and UK exclusives, including Hailey Bieber’s Rhode, Lady Gaga’s Haus Labs, Makeup by Mario, Merit Beauty, INNBeauty Project, Tower 28, and Half Magic all of which will be available in Scotland for the first time. The stores’ exterior hoardings will feature Sephora’s signature black-and-white stripes, paired with the slogan “Twice the stripes, twice as bonnie!”
Sarah Boyd, managing director of Sephora UK, said the expansion has been highly anticipated. She said Scottish shoppers have long wanted a dedicated beauty destination, and Sephora is thrilled to bring its full retail experience to both Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The stores will provide not only a wide product range but also beauty services and expert advice, reflecting Sephora’s global retail approach. Anne Ledgerwood, estate director at St James Quarter, described the Edinburgh opening as a “significant step” for the city’s retail sector, while David Pierotti, general manager of Silverburn, called the Glasgow launch a “key milestone” for the region.
Experts say Sephora’s opening is likely to increase visitor numbers, draw in beauty fans and strengthen Scotland’s reputation as a hotspot for international brands and high-end shopping.
