Kia on Monday offered a first look at its next-generation Telluride SUV, calling it a “new benchmark for the brand’s design and ambition.” The Telluride, which has been a major success for the South Korean automaker since its 2019 launch, has frequently ranked among the most in-demand vehicles in the U.S., making it a crucial part of Kia’s portfolio.

The 2027 Telluride, set to arrive in U.S. showrooms in the first quarter, comes with a bigger, more squared-off, and modern design. Its front features a prominent grille with vertical headlights, while the back has a clean, sleek look similar to luxury SUVs like the Range Rover.

Kia released images of the Telluride X-Pro ahead of the SUV’s official debut later this month at the Los Angeles Auto Show, where additional trims and details will be revealed. The vehicle continues Kia’s commitment to combining practical family-friendly features with a premium feel.

Sales of the Telluride have risen consistently since its introduction. Kia has sold more than 444,000 units to date, with year-to-date sales through October up 11% compared with the same period last year. The current Telluride is available in 10 trim levels, with starting prices ranging from $36,000 to $54,000.

The new model positions Kia strongly in the competitive midsize SUV segment, which includes its sibling vehicle, the Hyundai Palisade. Hyundai’s updated Palisade launched earlier this year, with pricing between $39,000 and $55,000 depending on the trim.

Experts say the new Telluride could help Kia sell more SUVs in the U.S. It combines modern looks with family-friendly features for everyday use.

With good sales and a fresh design, the 2027 Telluride keeps Kia strong in the U.S. car market.
